I paint in my studio at home in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, where I am lucky to have views over the Moor. I am inspired by the light on the landscape, at home and in other places close to my heart, especially the Isle of Arran in Scotland.
I paint mainly in oils or watercolours, indoors or outdoors when the weather permits. Each picture aims to capture the atmosphere of a place; heat, cold, peace, joy, light and freedom.
I am fascinated by the shapes and shadows of faces, especially the faces that I know the best.
