About Sarah.

Sarah paints mainly landscapes, in oils, focusing on the main story in each landscape.Often, the message is about the light, shadows and reflections, aiming to convey how it felt in the place at a point in time.

Capturing Light, Place, and Feeling

Over the last 5 years Sarah has been developing as a painter, mainly self-taught but with regular input from an inspiring tutor – Dominic Vince in Hebden Bridge.

More than anything, Sarah paints for the joy of it; having started painting when she needed to recover from the stress of her work as a doctor during the pandemic.

Recently, Sarah was proud to have paintings exhibited. “Sunrise on Ilkley Moor” was included this year in the Calderdale Open Art Exhibition at the Smith Art Gallery in Brighouse. In December 2025, 2 further paintings (“Spring Light” and “Sunshine round the corner”) were included in the “Turn Up” exhibition in the Trapezium Gallery in Bradford (part of the 2025 City of Culture celebrations).

From February 2026, Sarah will be exhibiting regularly alongside other artists in the Solar Gallery at the Manor House in Ilkley, Yorkshire.
